Push Switch / Key Unlock Warning Switch Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

This DTC will be output if the transponder key ECU does not detect that the unlock warning switch is ON even when the ignition switch is ON. Under normal conditions, the unlock warning switch is ON when the ignition switch is ON.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT:

When the transponder key ECU is replaced, reregister the ECU - ECM communication ID THEFT DETERRENT / KEYLESS ENTRY: ENGINE IMMOBILISER SYSTEM: REGISTRATION (2008 Sequoia)+ .

PROCEDURE

1.

READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Immobiliser / Data List.

(e) Use the Data List to check if the unlock warning switch is functioning properly.

INSPECT UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH



(a) Remove the unlock warning switch DOOR LOCK: UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia) .

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Switch is free

Below 1 Ω

Switch is not pushed

10 kΩ or higher

(c) Reinstall the unlock warning switch.

OK

3.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH - BODY GROUND)



(a) Disconnect the H21 switch connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

(c) Reconnect the switch connector.

4.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH - TRANSPONDER KEY ECU)



(a) Disconnect the H21 switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the H32 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

(d) Reconnect the switch connector.
